The Thorium Tungsten Electrode offers easier acr starting, high current capacity, greater arc stability, high resistance to weld pool contamination and longer service life. It was designed for DC electrode negative welding or slight polarity application and is not preferred for AC. Thorium Tungsten Electrode is the tranditional electrode, used widely in Tungsten Inset Gas Welding. It is desirable for the welding of stainless steel, aluminum and magnesium.
